Days 3–5 — La Fortuna \/ Arenal Volcano (2 h 30 min)<\/em><\/h3>

Hot springs, hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, and a full-day trip to R\u00edo Celeste<\/strong> — the blue river fed by Tenorio Volcano.<\/p>

Days 6–7 — Monteverde (3 h via Tilar\u00e1n, or taxi-boat-taxi across the lake)<\/em><\/h3>

Cloud forest reserve, the original canopy tour, treetop hanging bridges, and a night walk. Bring a rain shell — it rains sideways here.<\/p>

Days 8–10 — S\u00e1mara or Nosara (3 h 30 min)<\/em><\/h3>

Guanacaste without the resorts. S\u00e1mara for swimming and families; Nosara for surf and yoga. Three nights of doing nothing — you will have earned them.<\/p>

Days 11–13 — Manuel Antonio and the Central Pacific (4 h 30 min)<\/em><\/h3>

National park, plus Uvita \/ Marino Ballena<\/strong> as a day trip — the Whale’s Tail sandbar that forms at low tide. Humpback season runs July–October and December–March.<\/p>

Day 14 — Manuel Antonio → Sarch\u00ed (3 h)<\/em><\/h3>

Back to the Western Valley. Last night 35 minutes from the airport.<\/p>

Day 15 — Flight home<\/h3>

An unhurried departure.
