Day 1 — Arrive at SJO → Sarch\u00ed (35 min)<\/em><\/h3>

Land, grab the rental, and within the hour you are settled in — no 4-hour jet-lagged drive. Dinner in town, early night.<\/p>

Day 2 — Bajos del Toro Waterfalls<\/h3>

Early start. Catarata del Toro in the morning, lunch in town, Blue Falls in the afternoon if you have the energy. Back to Sarch\u00ed. Alternative: Po\u00e1s Volcano + Else Kientzler Garden.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Day 3 — Sarch\u00ed → La Fortuna (2 h 30 min via Zarcero)<\/em><\/h3>

A scenic drive with a stop at Zarcero’s topiary park. Arrive by midday, spend the afternoon at the hot springs at the foot of Arenal.<\/p>

Day 4 — Full Day in Arenal<\/h3>

Hanging bridges in the morning (best time for birding), La Fortuna Waterfall in the afternoon — 500 steps — sunset at El Silencio lookout with the volcano straight ahead.<\/p>

Day 5 — Adventure or R\u00edo Celeste<\/h3>

Class III–IV rafting on the Balsa River, or a full-day trip to R\u00edo Celeste<\/strong> (2 h each way) — the blue river fed by Tenorio Volcano. If you only add one extra thing this whole trip, make it this one.<\/p>

Day 6 — La Fortuna → Manuel Antonio (4 h)<\/em><\/h3>

Transfer day. Leave after breakfast, stop for lunch in Jac\u00f3 or on the beach. Afternoon by the ocean.<\/p>

Day 7 — Manuel Antonio National Park<\/h3>

Get there at opening. Sloths, capuchin monkeys, and beaches inside the park boundary. Free afternoon.<\/p>

Day 8 — Manuel Antonio → Sarch\u00ed (3 h)<\/em> → flight out next morning<\/h3>

Back to where you started. Last night 35 minutes from the airport, bags packed without a rush, rental car returned in daylight.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
